After creating a Collection, you are ready to start adding images and layers. You can do this by:
- Adding images and layers while viewing them
- Adding images individually from the search results
- Selecting images or layers in your Favourites or Annotated Collections
Adding an image/layer while viewing
While viewing an image or layer on Slice, click the Collection icon to open the menu to select the Collection(s) that the image or layer will be added to.
Image and Layer Title
When you are viewing an image and click the Collection icon, the title for the image is taken from our image metadata. However, it is editable should you wish to change it.
If you are viewing a layer when you click the Collection icon, the layer is added to your Collection. The default title is the title of the layer you are viewing and is also editable from this menu. Changes to the title will not change the title of the layer.
Magnification and Position
You are able to choose the magnification (zoom level) and position of the image on the screen that will be added to the Collection.
By default, images and layers are added at the lowest magnification.
To add the image at a specific magnification and position, prepare the image by positioning it at your preferred location and magnification. Then click the Collection icon and turn on the Magnification and position button.
When following the link the image/layer will load in the preferred position.
Adding an image while searching
When completing a search on Slice, the search results are visible as a list of thumbnail images. Click on an image to open the information panel and review more information.
From the panel, add the image to a Collection by clicking Add to Collection.
On the pop up menu you can change the default title for the image and choose the destination Collection(s) the image will be added to.

Favourite images and Annotated layers
Within Collections, open either your Favourite or Annotated Collection (link to help article).
Using the List view, select the image(s) you wish to add to another Collection by checking the box next to the image thumbnail. Click Add image to Collection and select the Collection that the images/layers will be added to and click Add.
